some of the parts that i have






the tank two dents in it one about the size of a quarter and one about the size a baseball.
I do have carb boots as well I thought the were bad so i got new ones, they just have some surface cracks but the inside is fine. just make me an offer on anything. The money i get from these will all go back into the bike.

The pic of the complete bike wit fairing is not same year as yours. By the engine covers, rear peg/muffler brackets, oil cooler and several other tell-tale visials your bobber WAS an 81 Venturer which BTW was a ONE year only FACTORY produced full dress touring XS1100. Now it is what it is......... and needs mufflers and a front fender..........

i am putting the fender back on i just had it off to clean and get ready to paint.

You won't need a front fender if you install a fork brace.
I'll trade a nice one for you gas tank!

Fairing

It would be a good idea to keep & offer the fairing mount with the fairing.
A buyer will have a hard time finding the mount if he gets only the fairing.
That's the Yamaha version of vetter fairing. Looks pretty cool that way.

That actually is the Vetter fairing made for Yamaha under contract. I've actually been in email contact with the guy who did the engineering work to fit the square turn signals and square headlight of the XS11 into the Windjammer for the Yamaha contract with Vetter.

Oil cooler is a creative way to handle the wires. I like the look of it, but of course the functionality is in question if you want a true road bike. Its a bar hopper in my view.

Hard tail, low stance, will equal reduced handling capabilities. Recently a local fellow XSive who also has a Zuki V-twin went down becuase he tried to take a turn like he was on the XS11. The low stance of the Zuk caused the bike to contact the road to soon and down they went. So just be aware of the limitations.

From the looks aspect it is well done so far.

Well it is certainly your right to do what you want with your bike...but to me thats a cryin shame to chop a Venturer as they were known...One model year only..Rare...I've been looking for a decent one for a few yrs now.

and all you had to do to get the bike you actually needed was to leave the thing alone and go ride it!
Too late for that now, alas.
BTW, Tkat's excellent fork brace sells for ~$100 new. A Venture gas tank sells for way more due to it's rarity.

when i first got this bike i knew nothing about them or the bike all i knew was that it was 300.00 and needed alot of work just to get it running. If i had known before i started this project how rare these bikes were i would have restored it. It is what it is. these are great bikes and i am glad that i have one. Since these bikes are the great bike that they are i can really understand why you guys feel the way you do about them. every vehicle that i have ever owned i have had to do something to make it my own. I can say that when i am done it will be one of a kind, and knowing that i did everything myself (with limited resources)makes it all the more unique.

I havent lowered the bike it is still the same height that it was with shocks on and me sitting on it. I read on a fourm here that with the driveshaft it can go plus or minus 5 degrees from 0 and i kept it within that range. nothing like the chopper on youtube. It looks alot lower sitting in the grass, an old lowrider trick to make your vehicle look lower than it really is.

I'd like that fairing too, but no spare money right now. You're better off selling it to dpotter and using the money to fund your build. I'm going to keep tabs on your build and when you're ready let's ride! Maybe we can get topcat out too!!
