I don't think I've ever seen one on my 80G

GLoweVA, they all came with one from the factory, from 1978 on. If you pull the tank and look at the little "pocket" in the frame where the coils are, right on top in the dead center you should see the little sucker.
Like Davinci said, it hangs form a "tang" on the frame and it does has TOP stamped in the body, when it is removed from the rubber loop it is in, you would be guessing which end is up without the stamp, and it is VERY important the right side is up.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
