    Cy, I get 11.46 volts at yel/grn.

Phil, try unplugging the flasher; you may be getting backfeed from the capacitor or the other coil....

I need to see what it gets with the flasher plugged in, cause it's with a load that's important. It may have been initially needing to kick in, but based on what I'm seeing with a 30ma relay coil load on the cancel unit, having a 160ma flasher load would put the voltage about where you report on the lower reading, so that says I need to add a transistor to the circuit to provide the 12v it wants reliably.

Ok, I checked voltage one more time this morning before putting the 79SF back together, 3.58 volts. Later today I'll check the 79F's voltage and report back.

Ok, the voltage at yel/grn on my 79F is 3.22 volts. The battery on this bike is a little weaker than on the other bike.
