over the weekend i picked up a 1980g, the po had partly
stripped the bike with the intention of doing it up which never
eventuated, i got it for $400, the bike was mostly complete,
he had butchered the wiring loom, im using a loom from my
81rh, he had butched the pick up coil wires, the brakes are shot and will need rebuilding, he put the wrong spark
plugs in, put a wrong size allen bolt into the timing case and
cracked the upper case housing(repairable), had dripped brake
fluid over a lot of the parts he had crated up (headlight cover
tach/speedo and other bits and pieces, i was a bit dissapointed in that
the engine and frame numbers dont match tho both the frame and engine
are 80 models.
the good news is ive got most of the parts from my spare rh to get the bike running.
heres a few pics, i really like the standard and ill more than likely do a ground up resto on it.
these were the carbs that came off the bike, not sure what there off originally tho.
