As to the marshals. I have never heard anything good said about those. Also I've never heard anyone that has ordered one anytime recently and actually got it. Seems that they claim they still make them but they really don't or something like that.

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
I have a used MAC forsale look in the XJ parts forsale section. New ones go for $365 mine is $220. I never used it ..I bought it on ebay but never installed it onto my XJ cause i found something else.
In my exhaust search I've found I can still get a Marshall deeptone made one off, for a little more money then the mac...
Good luck with that... there's been several attempts by listers to order/buy a Marshall Deeptone system, none with any success. Delivery dates that keep slipping, broken promises, long phone calls. You might be the lucky one and actually get one, but keep this in mind...

I got my Campbell mx-3 x pipe!! It looks very cool and VERY loud!! Will require side stand and center stand mod. I think it's sool cool i'll just lean the bike on a board or wall if I have to(mods already under construction).Try to get Pics today, more work yet to do to get it running.
I am excited to see pics! If possible can you do a little video so we can hear it?

natemoen, I still have to paint the inside of the headers with high temp to try to keep them from blueing and get my carbs back on after rebuild(at shop now). One last thing to do is figure out how to wire a new left hand control that dos'nt have the e flasher switch on to a 1981 that does.If any one knows how to do that it would be a big help.

The easiest way IMO would be to move the wire harness from the late switch to the early switch. The switches are identical in function, almost identical in construction. They nearly always need cleaning, and re-soldering the connections is good to do too. Just don't connect the 'extra' wires for the 4-way flasher, and seal the ends. Or you could pull those out.
But why do the change? There's no benefit (other than not having that protruding switch at the bars) and the 4-ways can be a handy thing to have...
Oh yeah... to prevent blueing on new pipes, don't waste your time with paint. There's a compound you can buy that you pour/slosh in the pipes that puts a ceramic-type coating inside them. It only works on new, clean pipes, so now's the time... I'll see if I can find a link...
I just had a set of Jardine headers ceramic coated and came out pretty good. Streamline coatings in Lafayette La did the work for me. I am installing on the 80G I am currently restoring. Pics will be coming soon.
THANKS CRAZY STEVE I'll definitly get that coating before fireup as to the switch I'm trying for that nos custom look and got a rh nos switch and the lt looked like crap and could'nt find a good exact copy so here I'am,Thanks again and HAPPY 4th!!!!
