To swap to pods, you'll need to rejet/resync the carbs. You'll need to go up one or two jet sizes too; this will depend on what type of exhaust you have fitted.

As for the vacuum advance, that connects to the number two carb (not the intake); the nipple is on the top right near the manifold.

Vacuum advace hose goes to port on front side of number 2 carb. Could'nt run fast enough to give me a set of pods, besides sometimes causing a tuning daymare. No mods if a Standard cept for a vented breather to replace the hose that goes crankcase vent up to front top of air box. Also, go back and edit your profile with the yr. scoot we're dealing with and your location as you see on the other members. Welcome to the XSessive madness!

          Hey Lord,

You've got an 80 SG...checked your PROFILE to find it, would be good to put in your signature in future so folks don't have to check the profile.

Surprised that you have the 110/120 combo....most have found the same size across all four. Yamaha did away with the staggered jets early on, despite what the manuals say. The 81 came with 110 straight across, and a 120 is 4 sizes up. What do your plugs look like on the cylinders with the 120's? If you have good color, or even a bit sooty with the 120's, then that may be all you need, and just get 2 more to replace the 110's. It's a bit of a trial and error process sometimes!

If you do get a dyna jet kit, stick with the stage 1 kit, anything else is too much for a basically stock engine.

Well unless you plan on dropping MAJOR money into the engine use the stage one. And when I say major I am talking like the kind of money and mods involved in using an fj 1200 engine in a legend race car.
