Hi Roccet. Love the work so far.
This is probably way too late to do anything about now, but I'd thought i'd put it up here for you to have a think about. The discussions about the braking forces on the trailing arm design have been rolling around in my head for a while.
My line of thinking would be to fit inside out Discs and calipers like Honda made for their CBX550's
and stick the caliper somewhere like in the diagram below.
I'm not saying that you should bolt brakes off a 550 onto your 1100 (mind you, it's not going to be a race bike ) but that this type of layout would transfer the brake torque off the caliper onto the trailing link and help negate the front end dive. Given your obvious engineering talent and creativity, I think something along these lines wouldn't be too hard a task for you.
Barring that, maybe some form of hydraulic antidive system activated by the calipers that pressurise the shocks under brake application.
Just ideas, mate. Good luck with your build. I'll be keenly watching79 SF Special W/ Stock all original motor @ 384,000klms

I think im going to make a new frame with the same characteristics .
I already started with a skeleton idea.. I just wish i had actual specs of the original frame.. you know anyone that has already drawn the frame up?1978 E XS1100 purchased for =$600.00
