Okay, I finally got my hands on a pair of acct's from a Vmax. Had trouble installing at first, had to start both bolts together to line the holes up properly. BTW I waited for the gaskets ( ordered 2) to arrive and man are they thin. Was wondering if I could use Permatex silicone gasket maker instead. Anyway there is an annoying leak at the bottom, so I wound up ovetightning and stripping the lower hole fortunately the acct came with slightly longer screws (I used the original ones) it bit and tightned up again, real careful this time. Still leaks though. Don't want to risk stripping again. What to do? Double up on gaskets or just use permatex?

Do yourself a favor and pick up a tube of Yamabond sealer; way better than automotive silicon, and the only gasket you'll ever need to buy is a head gasket....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Forgive me but it sounds like you installed it wrong. Did you disassemble the whole thing first? You put the main body in first then the spring then the bolt. If you don't do it this way your plunger will be out WAy to far and you may damage something" She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself. "

VMax are bolt ons
Got a set from ebay about a year ago and they came with bolts, had to use the original bolts because those were too long. Installed them on the G and the J, disassembled, with a little RTV on the gasket, and then adjusted the plunger. Haven't had a lick of problems or leaks since. Great mod, very trouble-free, and it works!!1980G Standard, Restored

Fronts the easiest to pull off. Rear one requires removing the airbox.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
