    Which brand of pods

So I've decided I'm going to not re-install that rediculously awkward airbox and go with pod filters to make service much easier. I was just wondering what brand y'all are running and how you like them? I have gathered that emgo sucks, mikes are good and most seem happy with them, and k&n are just overpriced. Anymore insight?

Mikes XS pods are the best that I have seen or used. I have a set of K&N's that seem to want to fall off all the time. They now sit on the shelf ,Mikes's pods are the way to go.

        what about the breathers...

I see a small tube on top of transmission and a larger outlet at 90 degrees to it that seems to be crankcase ventilation.

Both would have hooked into airbox...without it what needs to be done? I have a small pod filter that can be adapted to the larger crankcase vent if I mount it remotely off a piece of the tubing since it is too close to the case to mount the mini-pod direct.

Should I tee these two together to the same filter? Do they need vacuum instead?

Sorry to hijack but figured you would need the same answers.

You can buy a small crankcase breather filter for the larger hose. The smaller hose doesn't hook to the airbox, it's a vent for the middle drive unit which should remain open to atmosphere, doesn't need anything else.

The crankcase breathers are on this page, just before the pod filters...

Mikes is the way togo. I have the zrx1200r carbs and I left my 2 vent hoses way up under the gastank. Don't block them and yes. You can buy alittle breather if you like

One of the Aussie xsers recently used a pair of twin carb pods and put a little nipple on the filter to run the crank breather to.

That smaller line is supposed to go up to a clamp up under the seat to keep it up away from water and such and allow it to vent without letting anything to getting sucked into the middle drive.

                  I found your answers...

I had reposted my question on my thread because I didn't remember where I had asked

                  Guess I am getting older...

Thanks - i will route the hoses up to keep stuff out.

I had a set of Uni pods on the Mongrel and I really liked them. They were much better than the Parts N more ones that I think I still have in a box somewhere...
