    Sorry Capton, but I've done that, not only with the idle mixture screws, but with the pilot jet as well. The bits are long enough to get in there. I know, I've done them both.

      Probably not the best solution, but I've seen people cut those towers off just above the stuck mixture screw for easier access of removal.
