Man, somebody sold you a bill of goods. Mine runs like you wouldn't believe. Picks up in three gears, even POWER at ALL RPM's to 9000 easy!
agree, and was thinking that even if I jump to pods, I will probably figure out a way to gut the airbox

Back in 1978, Yamaha having produced the worlds quickest production bike in the 1320 was done on showroom stock scoot, not modified. The only mod was the rider, PeeWee Gleason who rode all manufacturers bikes for top 1/4mile times.
