Well guys, I just picked up my "new to me" 1980 XS1100 last week and boy do I have my work cut out for me.
The "person" who had it before me decided he was gonna start chopping the frame and shortening the wiring harness and now the only thing that will turn on is oil light, after I put it back on. lol And this is only after a day and a half of digging before I located the kill switch/ignition bypass tucked under the brake line mount on the forks.
So, after long debate, I have ripped every wire off the bike and am going to re wire it with just the basics and go from there.
I do have a question tho, using shops chops pics, I have fab'd up the hard tail and now the million dollar question is, How do you get the battery back in there? lol There is no way in hell it will fit under the new frame location.
Ok well thanks for listening, I am sure I will be asking many, many questions in the very soon future.
