Well I finally got the clutch in and rode this thing at full power for the first time and OMG it's fun! I can't stop smiling I'm giddy like a school girl. This bike could dislocate a shoulder if you're not ready. The shaft drive buck is pretty fun too. I can't wait to get the carbs dialed in with all the mods I'm sure it will be even better. Here's a pic as it sits now in all it's ugliness I still have to wrap the exhaust and upholster a seat for it. Also I'm looking for a standard tank with a clean inside...with a gas cap....outside doesn't matter. This tank was supposed to be a temporary because the member Clerek was going to send me his for the lollipop tips and a rear master cylinder I gave him but I haven't heard from him since last Oct. I don't know if he flaked or a situation arose that prevented him from sending it.

Awesome job! Get some paint on it and she'll be ready! Gotta show the Do The Ton boys, too!Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. That's really cool....but the swing arm looks like it's at a really odd angel. Is the drive shaft going to be OK?

I would love to see a closeup of those rearsets. I have been thinking about doing this as well and am in need of ideas. I would rather go for something off of a stock bike since those can be had for around $60, vs. $150 - $300 for a new set of universals.1984 XJ1100 - 79 cams, XS850 FD, XS triple tree/euro cafe bars, hydraulic clutch, bar end mirrors, yamaha R1 rear mono-shock

Not too shabby! I like the rear brake setup! Very creative. Be careful with the rear lights though. There are places that is not legal. Something about how far out from center the signal lights have to be. The copper pie is kinda strange, but maybe with some patina on it, they will add character!1980 XS850SG - Sold
