Although I like to see them whole, your looks nice even on the wall, keep us posted. What are you painting the tank and side covers, any powder coating? Show us more!

Just saw the tank, going for the back and chrome look...me like. Any mods or you staying original?

I have to say that organization like that, done so well, is a clear sign of a sick mind! I wish I had two so I could do that to one of them while still riding the other, the switch, how sweet would that be?

              Paint

All the painted pieces were ground down to bare metal to remove the rust. Still had a lot of pitting in it so I sent it all out to a painter. He went missing and it freaked me out as you can see he had most of my bike. Anyway I found him and I think he did a great job. 2 coats of epoxy filled the pitting, 2 coats of high gloss black, 3 coats of clear. The tank was cleaned and lined, the seams were glass welded and it passed the pressure test. I was able to copy the gold flake content from under the decals in the side cover's so the tank and side covers are very close to what they were 30 years ago. You can't see the gold unless it's in sunlight.

                motor

                James:
I've got a couple friends coming over tommorrow AM, and well just lift and set it in. Only take a couple minutes. I finished installing the clutch, motor mounts and cleaned all the electrical connections on the motor today. I'll get up early and put a coat of past wax on the hard t0 get at places before we drop it in.

                      addiction

You know I finally get it. I couldn't figure out why so many had more than one bike. Now I understand. After the motor was in I was just vibrating and wanted to put it all together in one day. It's taking every bit of will power for me to just take my time and do the final cleaning and assembly of all the little pieces, and putting it together in the proper order. Still waiting for new coils, another five weeks (what the f...k), I should never have special ordered the black accel's, carb parts and valve springs, but nothing major that will keep me from assembly.
