  • Anybody seen these?

    http://www.intiminators.com/

Pretty glowing reviews, and don't seem to have the messy/complicated set-up that the RaceTech emulators have. A bit pricey, and no specific application for the XS, but 'adapting' is part of owning one of these bikes, right?

    200 pounds!!!!

5 bucks worth of engineering for 300 bucks. I thought the race tech's were overpriced too.

There are copy race tech's on mikesXS for about 60 bucks, I wish someone would create a cheap copy for the XS.

Like I said, a bit pricey....

But the cost is offset a bit because they don't recommend changing springs; if the spring is adequate to carry the static load, that's all you need.

XS1100 is not listed there under Yamaha and they are pricy. Shipping would push them even higher?

For some reason I thought I saw another post here for this or something similar. I cant seem to find it now. Price was not as bad.

Anybody want to design a set for the 11?
I have access to a CNC lathe now that would cut the cost considerably
I saw Math H's post on the UK site for the YSS brand valves. I know they were for different forks, but I don't see why we can't come up with with an XS design. Anodizing increases cost and I don't see the need for it when it is emersed in fork oil.

Anodizing would only be needed for wear in this application, and I don't see where there would be much wear.

If anyone has a set of emulators that arent' installed, some measurements would be all that's needed to come up with a good enough program for the lathe, especially if the controller has decent conversational programming...

I've got a set if somebody wants to do this; mine are for 39mm forks, but an adjustment of the overall diameter should be all that's needed. The only trick would be coming up with the right spring to control the valve.

I posted this originally because these are the only ones I've seen that claim to offer both compression and rebound control as well as being able to tell if it's wheel or frame movement. They do have a patent, so I'm sure that's one reason why the cost is high...

Let me dig them out and take a few pics of them. These aren't XS11-specific units, but are for 39mm forks. But the 'working' part is identical, so you just have to 'adjust' the diameter and maybe how they 'seat' in the damper rod.

RaceTech does make these for the XS11, but they're rather pricey IMO for how well they work. You can see them here:

                          http://old.racetech.com/evalving/eng...ngname=english

Add in the fact that you should replace the springs to get full benefit of the emulators (another $100) and the 'Intiminators' (which I linked to and use OEM springs) don't look so expensive now. But they aren't offering a XS11-specific version, so this means either passing on them or possibly modding something they do sell to fit.

And to be clear, what I have that XSChop and Yahman are interested in copying are emulators, not 'Intiminators'; still interested?
