The weather gods smiled on us to day. As you can see from the pictures warm enough to bring her outside though still some snow on the ground.
another step closer, thanks to Rick & James.

[QUOTE=Ken Talbot;261490]Gotta sat that's about as close as I have ever seen!!!! Any thoughts about bringing #4 up about 0.5mm? [/QUOT
I was wonder if there were going to be any comments about that. I'm impressed you noticed. When it gets that close any changes to one carb can affect another, so since it was close we left it at that for now.

Dyno tuned to 98 hp at the rear wheel.
I was gonna ask what it looked like once they started the engine.
All the carbs were way off. #1 and 4 were high up in the 30's . 2 and 3 were off but closer than 1 and 4 .

Hmm, that's curious! Must have been something to do with going back in and editing to take out a typo. Of course, I could easily have gone in, deleted the extra post, and left your note there asking about something that no longer existed. But, I didn't...
It would have done nothing to my reputation if you did Ken. That kind of thing is expected of me.
As to the what did they look like when they started the bike, I was trying to imply those four were so dang close it had to be reading on a non running engine. Apparently I don't communicate well, at least at this hour of the night/morning.

You did , I just arrived home after helping at BigDaddy's place and was too tired I guess to catch on to your comment Those stainless steel tubes are strange as they stop moving once the picture is taken

Did anybody notice the sh#t eating grin on the fat man twisting the throttle?
The bikes running out just fine but we'll take it out for one dyno pull for fine tuning.
A couple of small exhaust leaks to take care of and some maintenance items. Then on to some cosmetics. The goal is to have the bike in Phil's hands and on the road by April.
No way we could have done all this without James (Tinman905) jumping in. As well as members kicking in parts.
Yesterday we ran through the gears a couple of times with no problems, a road test will be required to confirm the tranny is ok.
We then dropped the flush oil and filter, as well as the pan for a recleaning. I believe this is an important step(as well as cleaning the sump screen) after having the engine opened. There is always some small bits of gasket, grease and crud that flushes down into the pan and gets sucked up to the oil intake screen and partially blocks it. The pan can be dropped with the engine in the frame after removing the exhaust pipes.
The brake system has been flushed without much fuss other than replacing a blocked bleeder screw and a leaky copper washer. We will be needing a front brake lever.
Clutch tear down is done and sure enough the fibre discs are worn out and the springs undersize. New discs and springs are on order and the plan is to add an extra steel disc as per the clutch mod.
Phil install his reconditioned battery box and rear frame brace. They look good. Because of Phil's diligent effort and attention to detail we have promoted him from Gopher to Beer Monkee. Hopefully the promotion won't go to his head.
Hamjam(Jim) and Phoenix Rider(Wayne), a couple of fellow SOXSives dropped by and we finished the day up drinking beer(via the beer monkee)
and discussing motorcycles.Good work Phil.

Thx Rick
Well..This is all quite impressive Gentlmen!.One note about the extra steel disc...once installed you and your clutch is adjusted...You do not need to pull the clutch lever all the way back to the hand grip..You will find best results at about a half pull...this applies to up and down shifting...I have this setup and it took some getting used to. If you find yourself grinding gears then you've prolly used too much clutch....ease off to a half pull.
