After a short hiatus we will be back at it on Saturday. I had my usual visit to Florida for the 12 Hours of Sebring ( Sportscar Racing my other passion)
A BIG thanks to BikerPhil. I stopped by his place to pick up the fork brace he no longer needed and he kindly offered that we go for a ride. Well he on the standard and me on the Sspecial we set off to explore his roads and had a great day out. visited the beaches of Pompano all the way to Del Ray and had a good lunch too before a visit to the interior and edge of the Everglades.
What a great day out. It was good to meet you Phil and I hope to return the favour.

                Are we there yet?

To Day we sorted out the new location for the TCI box as it conflicted with the saddle. Moved it into the tool box by cutting a hole in the top of the tool box.
Everything works now. Just have to get it inspected by a mechanic before plates can be picked up.
we had a good lunch to celebrate. Will post some pictures soon.

MaximPlil, figured you find a location that would allow the use of the seat you had. Adapt and overcome.

Hmm, I've got a very similar collection, especially of those yellow handled ones. Main difference is I don't have as many left handed ones as Rick has, most of mine are right.

Not only hammers, I have a full set of left and right handed screwdrivers as well ! So no matter what side of the bike I'm working on, I have the proper tools.
I wanted to get a complete set with on top and underneath tools but I just could not afford it. So now I just lay the bike on it's side and use my left and right tools. Problem solved.

This is the first and last time 4 XS1100's will be in Funk's driveway

                            Phil's A Big Boy Now.

Yes it certainly was an ad-Venture. Phil is a proud but nervous new daddy.
Very rewarding experience that was made possible by members donation of time and parts... I'll leave the thank-you post up to Phil.
We worked hard and had a ton of laughs. I enjoyed every minute. If I was ever tempted to add another XS to my stable, it would probably be an 81.
My bikes, tools and parts are loaded up and heading for North Bay in the morning. I'm hoping to see lots of XS 1100's and their riders in my new driveway this summer.
                            Thanks to everyone, Rick
