I took the u-joint down there and I took the yoke. We measured it up and compared it to the one they have in stock. I dont recollect the exact difference but it was not enough that I would be afraid to use it. .00 something kinda difference. They also told me it crossed to a 392 which is made by progressive I think. Could be another manufacturer that starts with a letter P and I just have progressive on my mind though, but the number is the same.

      lets see

Mr big,, $168 is for the yoke & joint as you know which is why I started hunting else where,, shipping across the "pond" wouldn't be that much.

B WALKER 5,, I don,t get it, external measurements are from outside to outside, so measuring from anywhere else won,t be fine.

[ there is a poofteenth of clearance because the clips are a slide fit not a press fit]

the joint I got slipped straight in, no shims, centred exactly,,,,, I have tagged this as uni/cross joint,,if needed I can get them & ship to where needed when needed, I'll buy a couple & keep them here for later.

Simple enough, some manufacturers measure from inside to inside and dont include groove width. So if the groove / clip width is 2.5mm and the internal measurement is 35mm then the total is 40. Bought one today for 32 bucks, even though I dont need it (never hurts to have spares on hand). Measures perfectly to 40mm, including groove width. Matsuba UJ-112. Direct Cross from Koyo UJ N2057, which is the original part. Half the price of the 901004 in this part of the world. To you guys in the states, Neapco 1-0028 is what you want.

Might be time we started compiling a list of aftermarket parts, numbers and suppliers for our bikes that can be posted as a tech tip.

          not a bad idea

might take some working out though, as we have just found out .
a part number "down under" obviously doesn't work up "on top"

but it certainly might be worth a look by admin guys
