    XSrunner,

Groovy paint job, did you do that?

Interested to know how the head temp is done. Is this an oil temp gauge with the sensor bolted to the head?

yeah I saw the connecters online at the shack , but they have a very limited supply of wire there , I guess I'll try Kragen for the wire, also I guess I will bite the bullet and buy a new windshield .

HI SADDO the head temp wire goes under no1 spark plug and the oil temp sender replaces the sump plug on the bottom of motor .don't know if its right but the head temp sits between 300and 350 deg F .oil temp sits around 180 to 200 deg F the PO done the paint job 13yrs ago. he brought the bike over with him to AUSTRALIA in 1980. i have had it 18 months he was 73yrs old and couldn't handle the size of it anymore the fully touring version was not available in australia.I would suggest getting a set of PROGRESSIVE FORK SPRINGS for it it make a big difference to the front end (not as soft and bouncey) i dont think yamaha allowed for the extra weight the faring has..

Give me 24 hours, and I'll try to get an answer for you. I need to get to storage to check my fairing.

The oil is correct, but the temp is wrong. It should be under the number two plug. The center two DO get more heat than the outside jugs...

So I think I have it pretty much figured out except for the signals on the fairing anybody know how it hooks up

the fairing has running lights AND signals in the one light. IIRC, the blue is for the running lights, and dark green right, brown left, same as the bike. The easy way is turn on one turn signal, to a "temp" connection to one of two wires and see what side is on. It does not have to be blinking, so you can test with the engine off.

                    lets pretend!

Ok don't pretend , I am practicaly retarded when it comes to wiring so if tell me exactly how to hook up the wires from my bike to the fairing , color to color then it would be much easier for me !

                      Wiring Instructions

                      Garth,

Go to Catonic Bug's site (link a few messages below). There you'll find a PDF of the Pacifico fitting instructions that contains a schematic of how it should be wired.

I've not looked at it myself as I've UK specced my lighting. The separate running lights have been temporarily disconnected to be replaced by a repeater turn signal to try and help the car drivers notice when I'm moving over.

                      Hope the fitting instructions help.

The diagram is not that great, unfortunately it was made 31 years ago and not as well as are bikes! and not in color(D'oh)

"Looked at your fairing, very nice. Wish I had the square headlight version but mine's off an SF, winds me up that the front indicators are round and the rear square. Just me I suppose."

If yours is a Pacifico, they make a rectangular headlight conversion kit:
