    I made my cut just before "C" but I did it on standard pipes. Back when I did this on a special, I cut in the same place but I had to slit the end of the pipe and roll it down to fit into the HD muffler.

    I have a set of rusted up pipes cut the same way, I'll have to get pix for you...

      Centerstand is held on by 2 bolts and a spring. While on the sidestand, take the center stand spring off first with a vice grips, then the 2 bolts.

        You shouldn't need to remove the centerstand to do this little surgery. If the bike is on the centerstand when you do this, it will stay out of the way. I did find it easier to remove the pipes from the bike for the cutting and welding portions tho.

          I wouldn't consider cutting the pipes on the bike but I already had a new set of exhaust gaskets. A die grinder make's this a quick job.
