Who has brought the front end up (wheelie)?

    Does Both count??

    I have certainly got the front end VERY light on numerous occasions, but one in particular. A local area that I have been over in a cage numerous times and never had an issue, but the XS Beast found it an up lifting little hill. Wound up flying about 10-15 feet is my guess after going back over it now. Landed MUCH softer than expected to! Only took a week to get the seat out of my cheeks! I have since noted the multiple crevices from cage frames in the blacktop.

      Did an accidental wheelie with SWMBO on the back, only about 6 inches. She didn't notice, luckily.

        No for the old fart

        I've never ridden my XS11 without a sidecar. I suppose it's possible to lift a rig's front wheel although I'd suppose the sidecar's added weight would make the clutch slip instead.
        OTOH the sidecar wheel can be lifted at any speed if you want it to.

          Not intentionally...

          There are a couple of intersections around here... If I forget and get too aggressive on the throttle, the front end will come right up.

            Close, but not quite. Turned onto a country road from a parking lot and cracked the throttle a little harder than I really needed to. I felt the front end lift up and the tire did a little lateral slide, but no loss of contact. Maybe next time.
            I know this, because Tyler knows this.

                Yep

                ...by accident. Had just replaced the clutch cable after procrastinating for weeks.

                I was planning to do a rolling burn-out by starting the tire spinning in a small patch of sand in the middle of the road. I wrapped my wrist around the handlebar and dumped the clutch as soon as the revs hit 5K and the back tire hit the sand. The next thing I know I'm looking at the sky!

                I closed the throttle and dropped the front end down hard. Luckly, I didn't blow out the fork seals. Laundry day was heck that week!

                  Just did a wheelie with my daughter on back. She dug it.
                  This was on my E with the giant Pacifico fairing (with lowers), hard bags, and trunk.
                  I've even bunny-hopped this bike over a speedbump..... in the rain.

                    When I first got the trike on the road I managed to get the front wheel off the floor by a couple of inches - purely by accident as I didn't know quite how fast it would be pulling away - I was turning across a junction at the time

                    Haven't done it since though - I find having the front wheel down on the trike helps it steer a bit better

                    I'm sure I'll have some 'fun' on my 2 wheel XS when it's road-legal ! (and when I've fixed the slipping clutch)

                      I did when i first started riding. i was stoped at a fourway stop and i wasn't ready to go but a lady kept waving me ahead. I went to take off and almost staled the bike. i held on the throttle pulled the clutch in then dumped it and the front tire lifted about a foot of the ground. The bike defenatly got my attention after that. I think it was my first or seconed time out on the roads. Good laugh about it now.

                          I went through a spell of bouncing it up mid way through first on the last road before I get home when I had the stock rear in it. I wanted to learn to control it and kind of roll it up and gently let it down. Never got the hang of it and after getting it to high up and slamming it down once gave up on it. With the 750 rear in it it's much more of a challenge. I've only hit it a couple of times with that rear but don't think I've gotten the tire up. It feels more like the tire slips a rotation then just takes off.

                          I don't think the weight and length of the bike really lends itself to riding wheelies. But honestly that's a good thing. Gives you much more confidence taking off.

                              Austin, looking at your avatar.... you need to get off the floor and quit sleeping and put the dang bike together! How can you be that young and yet sooo lazy?

                              But yeah... I've been accused of spending more time on one wheel than two. My front fender finally beat my oil cooler into submission this last weekend... although both look like they've been through a war.. lol. As for crashing this weekend... That's all a lie. I was cornering so hard that I scraped my alternator cover up AND my windshield... .along with my elbow.

                                The way I read it, that was not a crash, that was a field test of the tipover cutoff switch. We'll be expecting a complete write-up of your findings
