Why would you want to dump a "crap ton of fuel into the carbs?"

These carbs can handle much higher air/fuel volumes than our engines can consume now... even at the 1196 bore. Simply adding fuel would richen things up and run like crap..

Such an item might be useful when using a nitrous boost as the NO2 leans things out rather significantly, other than that, can't think of a reason. have a nice day and ride safeI am the Lorax, I speak for the Trees

I've only had mine up to 85 mph (since that is what the speedo says!!) but I know it tachs about 5k at 70 mph and I have had it tacke dup to about 7500 in 5th gear. If the way it runs there is lean, I'd hate to feel if it was running right!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

I would assume that the way the tank is, gravity feed probably can't feed fast enough, so they added a small pump.
Dweebs might call it a 'dump pump'.Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

If you were to take the gas tank and set it on a saw horse and the petcock were to be opened up accidentally you would find that the tank would be completely empty in just a couple of minutes DAHIK. There is no way, even at 100+ mph that the engine could handle that much fuel so why add a pump?
If one was to add one I am sure that you would have to redo all of the fuel lines to take the added pressure or you would be looking at leaks for sure. The Old Tamer

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

even if one to put pod on the carb and and supertrapp..... with no rejet... would the engine need more fuel......there wouldnt need to be a rejet whould there... but im going to yamaha tomorrow because i got to pick up airfilter and also because they'r the ones who sold it to him so ill ask them about it..._____________________________________________ 1979 XS 1100 Special "The judge" mods- K&N air pods, 4-1 mac, 147.5 pilots, 57.5 mains, LED turn signal, cafe bars, HEL translucent yellow stainless steel brake line, dyna coil (dc2-1), raptor 660 mc, r6 controls..(sold)

You would have to modify the carbs to allow the fuel to get into the mixture, and it would probably take much more work to get that right than to just rejet the carbs and you would get a much more reliable and consistent mixture (meaning more power) with the rejet.
Aux pumps are generally used with fuel injection to raise the pressure under boost or NOS conditions to push more fuel out the injectors without any other changes.Cy

The term 'dump' pump is usually used to indicate a pump installed to allow the quick removal of fuel form the vehicle.
if your shipping a bike around, say for racing, it is recommended you empty the gas for transport...Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
