      Hey Mash,

Thanks for the link, photos, does look like the headers sweep far to the right to clear the oil filter cup!! I've got an RC Engineering/JCW set and I have to drop my megaphone to change my rear tire, not as bad as having to drop headers though!

        Marshall Exhaust Reply

        Guy's
Here is the reply from Robert Foster in regards to my question of whether or not their product will clear the oil filter.

        Greetings,

        Thanks for your email.

        Sorry for the delay.

We can not say for certain that it will clear the oil filter.

After selling many over the years - we have never heard any complaints.

Generally, Laser is very user-friendly unless it will compromise HP.

So, to answer your question, it does.

If not, I will refund your money.

        Best,
        Robert Foster

the exhaust hasnt been fitted on the bike for a cpl
of yrs, the muffler has a bracket attached to the rear
foot peg, you might be able to loosen the bracket and
move the muffler enuff away to take the axle out, but im
                not 100% sure.

I think the question is do you have take off the exhust to drop the filter?

                        lol,
                        thought thats what i said.
You dont have to remove the exhaust to remove the oil filter.
The exhaust also fits with the stock oil cooler.

Yes, I got one for years.
It clears the oilfilter. No need to remove the exhaust for a filter change.
The rear axle can only be removed if you take out the rear shocks and lift up the wheel. The wheel can be removed without dropping the exhaust.
Performance??? What is that? Top speed is at 115mph.
The headers get blue very fast and the collector where the headers unite, too.
Sound is not too loud, but gets louder over time, when the wool is burnt out.
Mine is at 118 db (officially measured).
XS1100 and XS650- what do you need more?

                            Additional Info

On the product spec sheet http://www.laser-exhausts.com/wp-con...508_XS1100.pdfthe muffler is shorter than on the british site.
On the spec sheet it clears the rear axle, in Britain (and Germany) it does not!

Oh, one more thing: I'm not the fastest in the twisties, but even mine has two scratches from ground contact. One is on the right header, the other one on the lowest part of the collector/muffler.
XS1100 and XS650- what do you need more?

Got an email from Robert today. The exhaust I ordered is being packed over seas to be shipped shortly. I'll post some pics when received.

                              Later.
