I got enough paint left over to paint the carbs. I thinks it'll make it look so much better.

If you and I are thinking of the same things, the small steel balls are there to plug the port. Lots of times there is no way to drill a hole without drilling through from some place they don't want a hole, so a small steel ball is pressed in to plug that hole.

yea THIS is a parts carb that the PO gave me so I put the caps from the parts carbs onto the carbs on the bike and now it runng good. it was actually my fuel flow problem. there was a bug in the line.

                    Update!

Hey everyone I've been working on the bike today. I put most of it back together and now I'm waiting on the paint shop to finish the tank, tail, and side covers.
I painted the engine black cuz I dont want to polish it.:P I also changed the handlebars for some drag ones.

                    thats it for now.

Not high temp, but gas proof. Here in CA, that is NOT available in spray can. A two part paint is the ONLY thing I've found that will work with gas. you will need a spray gun of some type, well vented place to use it, and a respirator. The good news is you can get almost any color you want, and in 1 quart sizes.

                          Hi Ray,
it only takes half a gunful of paint to cover four carbs.
It's been my experience that once a can of paint has been opened and some has been poured out the rest of it won't stay good all that long, say months rather than years for a full can.
Korr had better have something else in mind to paint that same colour in the next short while or the rest of that pigment could go bad on him.

                              paintin' carbs

I've brush painted my carbs on both my bikes with 500F aluminum engine paint, at least the outer 2, and they look great. Although not gas proof paint, it isn't a problem if carbs are working perfectly. No gas should ever get on them. I did have a mishap once where the paint did get gas on it, but took about 10 minutes to touch up. People think they're new when they notice them.
