I was thinking the same thing when I first bridged them like that. I even bough a used octy setup to get the "T"s from but ... If it were that easy to achieve the same effect as YICS why would the manufacturer just do it that way as compared to redesigning the block/head of the engine? I don't know enough about the YICS system to know if this would have the same effect. I guess I could always try it and see what happens.

im trying for a mirror finish.
can u do a write up with what u used as in buffing
      wheels, steel/brass wheels, polish etc
how did u get into all those little crevices
to get it looking like that, :-)
how did u do ur fins?

      thanx

Hey Pete .. I have about 15 wire wheels here of different DIA and Brussel hardness. I have both steel and brass. If you want to get a SMOOTH high shine you will do as I have done followed by the use of a cloth wheels and rubbing compounds for alloy.
I did the fins with those non metal abrasive wheels that are made for paint removal. They are very thin and will therefore get between the fins.
Now .. If you really want a COMPLETE job and have the dollars to spend you can have the entire engine, as a unit, glass beaded down to the bare metal followed by a blasting with walnut shells.
If you want the entire engine to look like it is chrome .. that's the way to go.
