Right side exhaust is backfiring, and blows a light colored smoke when I get on it. Also smokes after I shut the bike off. Just took the carbs off and re-cleaned, set float levels to proper specs, and bread tie syched. Didnt happen until I did this. Also, #3 exhaust pipes sizzle when I spray water on them whereas #1 do not. Any ideas?

Looks like #1 is not firing every time and the unburnt fuel ignites in the pipes when it does = your backfire. If your 100% sure that the carbs are good then check ignition system with the focus being on #1. Could be as simple as a bad plug.

Forgive the error above...dont know what happened. Number 1 and number 2 pipes both DO NOT burn the water off when I spray them down. Numbers 3 and 4 sizzle and the water turns to steam immediately. It only smokes and backfires from the right side exhaust....numbers 3 and 4. I also broke a float post in both 3 and 4 when setting float levels. Fixed with magnasteel. May be part of it?80XS11G (heavily modified) "Snot Rokkit"

That's going to be carbs or fuel supply to carb ... because ignition is not paired 1&2 , 3&4. So start at the fuel tank and work your way down. If fuel supply is good then it's likely off with the carbs .. again.

Yay. They are probably screwed since the float posts were broken. I was able to set float levels correctly but I was worried about them since I broke them. I dont have the extra funds for another set of carbs anytime soon if they are to far gone.80XS11G (heavily modified) "Snot Rokkit"

Well I figured out that the #2 carb wasnt getting any fuel into the float bowl because the float valve is screwed. I love waiting 2 weeks for a $10 part that keeps me off the road.80XS11G (heavily modified) "Snot Rokkit"
