    finished mine

This bad boy puts the inside sprocket 86 mm from the case exactly with 15mm left/wider adjustment....will install it on the the stock frame (PEPE, formally known as Blue-Streak) tonight, run a string and check clearance....The housing is bulletproof and the bearing races are machined better than factory according to my machinist friend. we zeroed both the Factory M/D housings from front to back and they are not consistent....Looks like Mr. Miyagi was hittin' the Saki at the Yamaha M/D factory back in the day. The first pic shows the exact mirror image of the housing/Locator Dowel pin hole and engine case Boss/ bearing race dimentions. last picture shows the stock shaft ready for the sprocket.....last thing I will do is lighten it up (haven't decided to mill the front or back)and add the xs11 insignia.....

Chop it's a honda C77 sprocket from memory, Audi will know for sure. 86mm from inside sprocket to engine case on yours then, mine probably sits at about 82mm, 85mm is the middle of the chain, I'd skimmed down the splines another 3mm to move the sprocket 3mm to the right on mine. 5 inch rim and 40mm to the inside rear sprocket, the 5 inch rim measurement isn't the actual full width of the rim, it's the inside groove that's 5 inches across, Audis harley wheel with a giant 200 tyre was still 110mm centreline to inside sprocket, same as my kawasaki wheel with a 160 tyre, so the rear sprocket position was the same although his chain is closer to the tyre sidewall

        Thanks Pggg

Now all the dimensions make sense. So I will just make everyone else's CD housing 80-82mm and they can go hunt down one of your kawasaki rims that are abundant on Ebay. Back to my original thought.....ZX11 or GPZ. Maybe Maximan can donate his zxr12 swingarm for a mockup ..... P.S. will order the sprocket today. I installed the housing and it fits like a glove.......

So whats the going price? Might have to get in line. What else would someone need to buy besides a sprocket, tire and rim? If im reading these post right you also need a different swingarm? If so what one are you useing? Just trying to wrap my head around this one is all.

          Thanks

Yup, and a price for this gorgeous housing separately? I think it is a bit expensive to ship swingarms and wheels across the ocean

                clearing the air

CHECK OUT Pggg's POST ABOVE AND FIND A WHEEL/SWINGARM WITH THESE DIMENSIONS. THE TRIUMPH ST SWINGARM IS A PERFECT SHOE-IN, I NOW HAVE 2EA. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP. YOU CAN GET AN R1 SWINGARM/REAREND CBR OR GSXR SWINGARM FROM EBAY CHEEEEEEEP AND ADJUST THE WHEEL TO SPROCKET WITH SPACERS EASILY. I WILL SHIP A COMPLETE BOLT-ON UNIT WITH SEALED BEARINGS, MODIFIED SHAFT AND 7EA BOLTS ANYWHERE IN THE STATES FOR $425....iF YOU ARE OVERSEAS I WILL SHIP THE BEST CHEAPEST WAY POSSIBLE FOR THE EXTRA AMOUNT....iF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE COST OF MACHINING, THIS UNIT WOULD RUN AT LEAST $800 U.S. TO HAVE ONE MADE. MY FRIEND LAUGHED WHEN I SAID I WOULD SELL THE WHOLE UNIT FOR $500. iF YOU WERE ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE THAT WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE ONE....THE NEXT ONE IS GOING OUT THE DOOR FOR ALOT MORE TO THE NETHERLANDS

                    final details

This one is complete and with modified shaft (original catch splines lathed down to 30mm bearing race, 1st pic) installed in factory sized bearings 30x55x13mm, although with the better sealed type which have a crazy long service life and can be replaced on the cheap (@ $30/pr)....Also in 2nd pic, exact bearing dimensions/location inset as factory housing and even using the factory C-Clip! Notice the sprocket splines that allow for the 15mm adjustment all locked on tight by the factory locknut (thanks to mr. miyagi)....I can see why you gain more horses going to chain, there is virtually no drag on this compact unit compared to the stock Middle Drive and that's not even taking into account the Final Drive.....Also no more middle drive gear-oil problems is always a plus in my book.....

                      For non- USA xsives

I will check Fedex Internatinal shipping rates and get back to you. Also I will make clear that an extra charge for the Middle drive shaft will be added ( @ $50 because I have to get them from Ebay, junk yard, etc.)so you don't have to ship one to me in the first place....Chop

Chop, that unit is so flash it's scary, check out mine in comparison, a few years old now, fashioned with hammers and sandpaper, it looks like something out of the Flintstones For anyone thinking of rigging Chops unit to their XS, the main advantage is you can gear your bike to your own preference and your back tyre needn't look so wimpy compared to the modern bikes. Also you get a weight loss and the bike accelerates a bit quicker, but the power increase isn't massive although there's some extra kick allright. Riding/cruising, you can't tell any difference between the shaftdrive or chaindrive, thats with a cushdrive rear wheel, very smooth, not sure what a solid rear setup would be like, but doubt there'd be much difference. With Chops unit bolted in, the hardest part would be rigging a rear wheel/swingarm/brake setup

                          chain size

hey what chain size is that in the pic? and what chain does the Sprocket Specialists take or can they get different chains. Also with a huge 630 chain the 14 T sprocket would be 4 3/32 inches. what is your sprocket width with your setup?

530 sprockets and chains, the sprockets are 9mm width, O-ring/X-ring chains are the only way to go, cheapo non sealed chains are a waste of time on a torquey eleven, 630 pitch is expensive, heavy and rare, stick with 530

PS, I thrash the hell out of my bike but haven't needed to adjust the chain for over a year, that's thousands of miles, the good chains are basically non-maintenance apart from a bit of wax/lube now and again

                                530

o.k. that clears it up. that moron at the bearing sales said I would need to get that fat 630 chain to handle all the torque. he must have been a Harley rider (light bulb a little dim) because he looked confused when I told him our bikes won't snap the 530 chains like you mentioned before, yet my shaft drive bike would eat up a stock Harley......I will get the 530, because the Triumph Fiche shows that the rear sprocket is 530.....Oh yeah O-ring to Boot
