    still at it

Well hours later and no go . I checked and cleaned connections and inspected vac lines and fuel lines. Is there a continuity test I can do to test the pickup coil circuit cuz it looks ok ( i'm sure that doesnt mean much ) . I tested resistor caps and across the coil (spark plug wires ) . Can the coils have a bad ground ?

      Randy's TCI page

Wow ,thats a great site ,even a movie . There's a easy test to figure out where to go troubleshooting that even I cant screw up.

        and on it goes

Can you believe I cant find 3/16 vac line in this one horse town ?
No fuel line other than the thick stuff either . Oh well , no one said it was going to be easy...

I will do the TCI test tomorrow, check fuses, test coils , try to test the pickups and every connection I can find

            Axel,
The pickup coils should test out a 600 to 800 ohms, the main coils should test out at 1 to 2 ohms on the primary side and about **15,000** ohms on the secondary. Sounds likely that you have a pickup coil out.
            **corrected secondary value**

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

Not including tha plug caps, I thought it should be more like 15,000 ohms (15K) on the high volt side.

                No spark 2&3

I keep hearing this spark arc happening it the battery region . I thought it might be the TCI but after I removed the cover ,I think not . Fuses are good but I will clean the holders

                  TCI time

Tested at the TCI . Seems to point to pickups but they test equally at 125ohms TCI time ? or hammer time ?

                            Re: no luck

If you can hear spark, it must be the coil wire or cap jumping to ground!
