I can account for one as my 78 E frame has an 82 motor sitting in it. 11G-XXXXX on mine as well and going strong.

Count me in too.....and I've seen another, just like mine in a bike shop in Kelso, WA getting the brakes fixed, when I was getting a new rear tire.

          It seems that...

Yamaha did build the XJ for three years, hence the 11Gxxxx serial numbers. I think Yama didn't import them to the US in 83-84 because of the high tariffs put in place to protect h-d. Some folks have guessed that the bikes sold in Canada were just leftover 82's, but the serial numbers would all be 10Mxxxx's if that were the case.

              82 XJ1100

one here, Portland Oregon, original condition 8000 miles, trying to bring it back to health, the dang ignition box died on me leaving cylinders 1 and 4 dead. looking forward to getting it back on the road. My other ride is a '99 Honday Valkyrie Interstate. Love em both.

Had 2 here in Daly City, CA. Sold the 750 to Bikeman so am left with my xj1100j, 29k original miles. One of the sweetest machines I have ever ridden.

                  Hey Hemoguy,
Make sure it isn't a cracked or bad coil.
I had one that killed 1 and 4 when wet. It had a crack in it. Took me way to long to figure it out.
I replaced it and yeehaa, getting caught in the rain is no longer an issue.

Oh yeah count me in on this too

Add another XJ to the party please. Shes in beautiful shape would you believe it has less than 1200 miles on her and shes running like a champ. Of course after a carb overhaul, rebuilt brake calipers front and rear, rebuilt master cyllinders front and rear, fluids, tires, etc etc.
