I wonder if anyone knows where I can get the rubber bumper that goes on the sidestand?

Might take a little "engineering" to get it to fit over the larger bulb end of the stand/arm/stop bar!

Several years ago I used a piece of rubber hose with the ID that was close to the side stand diameter. I cut the piece to length and put it in hot water for awhile and greased up the ball of the stand. Popped right on and has been there ever since.

I used the rubber tip to a cane (you can buy them as replacements in a pharmacy). Drilled a hole through the center and cut it down to size. Worked perfectly.

Mine was cracked down the side and kept falling off. I got resourceful with the carpet staple gun. After I hit it a few times with the stapler, I smeared some RTV to hold them in and protect the exhaust from scratching. Its still holding after several thousand miles and plenty of stops.

I found a peice of rubber hose that fit and I'll see how long it lasts. I tried that on the '79, but the rubber melted on the pipe.

I used a piece of 1/2" heater hose and it's holding up fine for 4 yrs.
