back to the lecture at hand

Sprocket Specialists # 506-13 0r #506-14 will be the 530 pitch variety that will be needed for the ZRX swingarm/rear sprocket size. I bought my chain NEW off ebay for $58 from a KAW zx6 it was 116 link 530 after I plugged in the chain calculator dimensions for my front sprocket to rear and 13/42 ratio.....the ZRX will probably be different link #s. Yes, I have 25mm preordered shaft that I still haven't made my mind on cutting just yet. But now that you mention SCAPP, I guess I could just machine a solid steel 28x42 disc to replace the roller bearing. The roller bearing is locked in with that circlip to keep the swingarm from moving left(against stock 27.8mm sleeve) and from the right by the ZRX frame. Let me ponder over a cold Lions Head.

        got a solution

Sourced a couple of Thrust bearings.....30x47x11 for the left side of the swingarm and 30x52x16 for the right side (just going to sandwich the swingarm), these are 3-piece roller axials and better than using bronze contact berings that wear out quickly and we won't have to replace the inner needle bearings..... So I also pulled the ZRX sleeve out of mine and measured it to be 27.94mm....So, maybe the Kawasaki factory skims them down to be slip fitted for each swingarm....Scapp, you should send me your sleeve so when I spin out your custom pivot bolt I can get the exact tolerance......

          swingarm

Do you want the whole swingarm? I can send the entire thing to you if you want except of course the wheel.

P.M. me your mailing address okay?

            NO

Just send me your sleeve, your swingarm pivot tube is machined exactly as mine. Mine is 8 7/16" lenth, what's yours,BTW. you will get a PM...

              sleeve

I should have said the swingarm alloy tube that is welded to the rest of the swingarm is machined the same way on all the swingarms. The 8 7/16" sleeve inside seems to MAYBE have been machined with ever so slightly diff tolerances to match the stock needle bearings. That's why I need it, to copy the O.D. when I spin your custom pivot bolt down....

Send me part # 42036A from the schematic

The swingarm alloy tubes are machined exactly the same for the bearing innerds...

Hey XSchop ... Seeing as I will be getting and using the 650 wheel and sprocket what are the chances that if properly reinforced that I could also go with a matched to the wheel 650 swing arm? What do you think?

                    xs650 swinger

Anything can be made to work, You will need to be able to run at least a 25mm dia. rod through it to accept the xs11 pivot bolts. I just measured the zrx swingarm rear axle at 20mm, isn't this the xs11 rear axle Dia.?

                      Another Idea

Chop off the pivot tube from xs11 and weld it to (in front to get more swingarm length) the xs650 swingarm. I don't know the shock spacing but that is trivial with spacers that can be added to the frame or swingarm....Just remember that centerline of the donor bike should be 5 5/8" from the left pivot face....good idea tho

                        Re: Another Idea

Hey now your talking about a "plan".
That would likely be the fastest and easiest way to do this job for me. Cut off the 650 arms and wield them onto the 11s pivot shaft. I could Lengthen and reinforce as necessary while I'm at it and away I go.

                          bracing

you'll have to under brace it, those xs650 arms will be a little flexy under the xs11.... If it were ME doing that swingarm, I would machine the xs650 pivot tube in half from left to right on a Bridgport mill and weld it to the back side of the xs11 swingarm, then just cut/grind off the xs11 arms from the back. If you set the xs650 swingarm up in the mill correctly, then your resulting swingarm will be square/true/perpendicular.....you wouldn't even need a jig....voila!

I don't have access to that sort of equipment but I do follow what your mean. I am just thinking that the 650 wheel will be very easy to use with the 650 swing arm, axle, adjusters bearings etc. Under bracing is required for sure.
I guess I will have to ether send the arm out to be cut or do it myself with great care.

                              machining

If you just remove the guts from the 650 swingarm pivot tube and take it to a machine shop, I don't see more than an hours work (@ $40-60)....just make sure they set it up on the mill square

are you planning on widening the xs650 rim later?
