I didn't get around to installing it. Had to clean and prep the Katana for winter storage. The engine this chain drive unit goes on is not even in a frame yet... it's still on the stand. I still have lots of other stuff to do before pics can be posted. Perhaps today I can get it installed on the engine.

                Hey Chop,
I got my bike down for a re-build (winter and cold in the morning) Now would be a good time to find out where I am on your waiting list...

My unit was very easily installed where the middle gear used to be. It fits like a glove.

                        Drive train lockup?

I have never heard of Drive train lockup on a stock XS1100. Can you enlighten me?

                            lockup

thats where your middle drive locks up
then you crash and it ruins your new snowboard that was strapped to your rack.

It has been brought up that if your middle gear seal starts to leak you can lose the oil back into the engine case and not notice any leakage. Once the lube is gone, it can lock up. Check your fluids regularly...problem solved.

Ouch, I hope that's a direct result from a leaky seal making the middle drive box dry. I say I hope that cause I check it often. I'd hate know that can happen even if good lubrication is there.

Also staying tuned to see how these units come out. It'd be really cool to know if any horses are released to the rear wheel with this mod.
