I am working on my zrx's again... I will have to say if you really look at the vac adv port on the carb its not ahead of the butterfly. I have two sets of bs34's and the hole comes out right against the plate. I thought about drilling the carb but I don't know??? I have to open my idle back up... I accidentally set it baxk down again... oopps... I am using 132 sized jets. I hope it runs good!!! I'll keep you guys up to date!!

While on the subject of alternative carbs... has anyone ever thought of (or tried) putting a single bigger carb on the XS so you only have to deal with one carb? i don't really know much about all the carb work so feel free to call me retarded for mentioning it if it's a dumb idea or if it won't work

I was just thinking of not having to sync anything or only having to adjust one single carb, sure would make my life easy

Let me know what you guys think and if it won't work just tell me why and i'll be happy, thanks

1 would be ok for turbo but not for nonturbo 4bangers...

I returned the screws to 3.5 turns!!!! Holy frak!!!!

This thing is amazing! I thought it was going to rip my arms off!!! I need to by the univeral choke stuff tomorrow at autozone. Other than that I think I am done!!! I am still shocked at the difference.
My coworkers always hear me coming and today they noticed it sounded different. They said they thought it was great before but now it is way better!!! I'll post pics/vids tomorrow!!

Poor performance. Do a search for "single carb" and you should get several hits. This topic has been brought up several times. There is lots of info on here for carb tuning and syncing. Even several ways to make a vacuum sync tool. If I could ever get my butt in gear, I would finish my "Perfect Bench Sync" tutorial and get it posted.

Here is my thought on it. Each cylinder of these small engines (relatively small compared to 500 cu inch big blocks and the like) is just a little different in its compression and such due to wear and just plain physics. Slightly different exahust lengths, ever so slightly different intake runs, and the like.

When tuning the carbs, and synching on a running engine, you can quickly see that it takes small adjustments to get a big difference in the performance of these engines. Trying to fine tune the fuel flow AFTER the carb, is pretty tough at best. So you would be fighting a much tougher battle to try to get one carb to run all four cylinders efficiently or even effectively in my opinion.

Once you get a set tuned and synched and repeat the process a few times it is not as hard as it seems the first time out.
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.
