Wow Ray, I don't know how you get that kind of mileage. It didn't change my mileage much at all. I still get around 30 MPG, but then I rarely get below 100 MPH. LOL

      • Always, but You would do it even if you had 6 gears...at least I did on my old CB360T....

I have my 750 FD sitting here waiting to be put in. Derwat started changing his already, but needs a slide hammer to get the driveshaft out.

        • Drive out

It's easy to get the shaft out. Just wrap a peice of wire around the end and something kind of heavy like a hammer tied to the other end and give it a jerk. It comes out quite easily.

              • another tip

I just installed another FD on my friend's xs11 @ 2 weeks ago and I assembled the U-joint coupler/copper sleeve/ drive shaft while the swingarm was off the bike and then attached it to the 4 bolts to the Middle Drive. Made things alot easier...chop

                • Alignment

I found that I could pull the rubber boot back and align the u-joint with my finger to put the shaft back in. Align the u-joint so that one of the bearing caps is vertical and you can lift the joint and turn it left or right to facilitate inserting the shaft. Because I made a spacer I had to do it more than once to get it the right length and by that time I could do it very quickly. Practice makes perfect.

I think they've been re-posted in the tech help section.

                            • Missing photos not LOST!!

                              Hey Folks,

Sorry for the inconvenience, but the photos are NOT LOST! They are on the BETA site's tech tip, HOWEVER, the beta site is DOWN because we are very close to the final upgrade process for the actual XS11.com site!!! It would be a bit of a pain to temporarily put them on like photobucket now, and I had saved them prior to the departure of said member, and put them on the beta site's version, so I didn't bother with the old tip, I knew it would be fixed with the update!!

Once the upgrade is complete, all of the tech tips and photos WILL BE THERE. Sorry if that causes a delay for any folks looking to do the 750FD conversion SOON!?
