I am retain the shaft drive. I am focusing on handling improvements and not that concerned about ultimate power. My project goal is to keep the classic XS Standard look, but ride on R1 inverted forks, excellent brakes and radial tires.
I am fabricating my own swingarm and relocating the stock swingarm pivot locations. The drive shaft will be on the outside of the swingarm pivot.
I have a FJ1200 mono I would like to incorporate into the whole thing, but not sure there is room for it and a battery.

So you are gonna locate the drive shaft tunnel outside the frame? you could then get an Avon 250-300 to fit!!!!!!
