Found a set that are supposed to be 34MM . Thought they were supposed to be 36 MM Also ...
Should I look into this or is it a lot of trouble

    Thanks

I found that same post on a different board. I asked my brother (who knows everything) and he hadn't heard of the "Slingshot" GSX-R 750. I'm thinking that's a name change for the UK? I would like to try a set of those too. What years, I wonder as he mentioned earlier 36mm and later 40mm.
    Cheers, 50gary

      Slingshot Carbs

      I'm reading 1988 were 36 MM , then they went to 40MM.
I'm guesing the guy measured these wrong ...
I find it hard to believe these add 30 HP , but they claim it does..
Not sure about how they are to mount or ridability ??
Hope someone chimes in about them...
A UK Website has stuff about them , just takes time to research!!

            Slingshot carbs

            Here they are ....
            http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Any one that can help ID these would be great ..
The seller measured 34 mm not 36mm so I'm wondering if they were stock to the bike ...
            Thanks

Are you sure those are the right carbs. They appear to have the Diaphragm vent on the filter side of the carb. In the description in that thread he talks about having the vent on the engine side?

                  Hey Dog,

Congrats on your bid win!! The slide vents are on the air filter side, just like the OEM XS11's! But these are NOT VACUUM ports, in otherwords, sucking on them isn't what causes the slides to rise, they just allow the slides to rise and then drop again! Hope they perform better than what they cost you!?

I'm not sure what you mean there TC. You say those vents allow the slides to rise and fall. There must be return springs as in out 11s? I noticed that within the first couple of lines the lad behind this carb change idea made mention that the vacuum vent on the carbs he is using are on the engine side of the carbs. If there were 2 vents the vacuum needed to lift the slides would not be created would it?
I am now also wondering if you think these carbs are correct ones of not?

There's quite a few different 'slingshot' carbs some have accelerator pumps, give instant gas at throttle movement. I had some on a GSXR1100 they had semi-flat slides on diaghrams. Even the 34mm should give a boost.
