        part of project #3.
Supposed to be very tweak/adjustable flat side mikuni racing carbs.
Not the BS34's CVC's that are stock on the XS. Have not had time to tinker with yet.

When you receive your carbs could you post some model # or other method to truly ID them for others like myself who may want to go that route.

                  advance

So, have you guys figured out the vacuum advance problem if switching carbs... I want a set, would be easier than doing the big bore kit if they do increase horses...thanks for you all's guinea pigging....chop

                    advance hook up

From what I read so far , you do not lose performance with no advance . Gas milage should suffer ...

I might make an orifice to slow the vacuum down ....
                    Will look into it ...

You should be able to hook the vac advance up to one of the carb boots at the engine but would have to put a valve on it to reduce the vacuum to the right level for the advance unit. You could start with the valve closed and then open it slowly until the right total advance is achieved at the right RPM from the manual. I think it's somewhere around 5000 RPM that the unit should be fully advanced.

                        Vacuum advance control

What keeps the vacuum down on the original carbs???
Must be a certain orifice ??
That is a good idea though .....

Yes I would guess that the actual hole size on carb #2 is somewhat smaller then what is there to accept the hose. I do know that if you hook up to the carb boot the advance will just bounce back and forth from full advance to no advance because that's the way it was improperly hooked up when I got my bike.

Hose connecter is a 5mm tube pressed into a 5mm hole on the outside carb body, but the vacuum hole is a tiny half mm, positioned right on a notch in the butterfly in carb 2, where it's partly covered at idle.

Interesting to know how much gas milage will suffer ??
