My gut feeling it that it is too rich. What else could cause it to run too rich. I say too rich because the plugs are black .. right
    Sooooo,

The plugs are fouled! Why didn't I think of that?

Fouled plugs will fire just fine out of the cylinder, but put them under pressure ( compression ) and they'll misfire.

Dammit, man, put new plugs in!

These are 4 brand new plugs with about 5 minutes use on them?

Putting the old jets back in is a good idea, especially the pilot jets. I'm hoping you'll be pleasantly surprised when you put them back in! Many others who had bad fouling plugs experienced the same improvement once they went back with the OEM or Genuine Mikuni jets!

Then, once you've got it running right, and are not fouling or carboning up plugs, then you can probably reinstall your Dial-a-jet system, since it is supposed to work on upper throttle levels, not during idle!

Ya it's real hard to hold the cam study enough for a clear PIC with the flash turned off but the plugs do in deed have up to 3 sparks coming off them. So YES I will clean and re-jet with the jets that were in the carbs when I got the bike and see what happens.
Where can I get Genuine Mikuni jets???

I will also take a moment here to say
THANKS EVERY ONE FOR FOLLOWING THIS ISSUE WITH ME!!!

I have thrown too much cash at this bike now to not get it going and going RIGHT

          Genuine Mikuni

Bike Bandit used to carry the large head ones, but I can't find them now. I can still find the BS30/96 Pilot jets.

The problem with MikesXS is that they jump from 115 to 120, don't offer the 117.5 or the 122.5 size!

"I'll check it tomorrow morning. Question.. How would that affect the signal is that not just a bushing? I mean if the thing is rotating properly what difference would that make?"

There was something wobbling off centre in there and spark seemed on one side and reading plugs were no help for that one, whether 1 & 3 or 3 & 2 or 4 & 1 or whatever .. I still can't figure it

That would indicate lack of fuel flow through the carb. Did you remove and clean the atomizer tubes that the mains screw into? Those little holes have gotta be clean. And just soaking doesn't usually do it.

                      • I had this exact same problem on my bike and i was dead certain it was electrical. When it is running if you put your hand over the number 3 or 4 it would fire, let go it and it would burn all the gas in the carb and start misfiring. I did have an airbox on it and I think that was why. Set of pods is on the way.

The problem proved to be carb related. The vent tube in the air box were plugged so I had a flooding situation.
Yes i got the bike running ...
