          museum only ?

          Put some new tires on it and ride for that price. Cheaper than a new comparable bike.

              They keep climbing! That's the first time I've seen a Special go that high. Back in the day, the Special II was the less popular plain Jane version. It seems to be the more desirable one now.

                      Here's Another 650

                      This other one ends in a few hours on eBay. It is not on quite the same level, but appears to be a good survivor that can be revived with a little effort.

                          If I remember right when your SJ/SK Heritage Special first came out they had a MSRP of over $3000 I had my SF11 and paid $3399 for it, could not believe the tag on the Heritage 650.

                          Paid $1269 for a brand new 77 650 D, end of 77.

                            Memory is fading and I lost the original paoerwork...but somewhere around $3600 is what I paid for my brand new '82 XJ1100 Maxim...back in early '83

                              This bike had a reserve of less than $800. I am sure the seller is surprised and happy. Good for him.
