To give you an idea of how hard the title process is, I just had to pass on a 78 CB750 complete unmolested bike, been sitting in a garage for ten years. Sale price was $200. There is a 71 some assembly required but all there for $400. And this is by business owners, who have a process to get the title here in Ohio.

It's always sad to see bikes like that after years of abuse and neglect. Enough time, money and effort can resurrect them though.
I think usually one has to do it for the love of it and it's easy to have a total spend of more than the bike is worth in restored condition. From an accountancy point of view, restorations don't, I've found, add up but, hey, that's not what they are about for me.XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

Yeah this one doesnt have much going for it besides running well and I do have some spares in the garage. I dont have the cash for a correct resto on it. Its at Nightingales house to be transformed into a stretched and raked hardtail 70's style chopper with a girder front end. The purist may say its the wrong thing to do but its better to be riding it then to send it to the scrap heap of let it rust to oblivion. Thanks for the comments.
I post this here cause there is better feedback then other forums.1979 XS1100 Special. Nicely modified.

Well I bought a girder front for it online. It looked good in pics and when a friend went to go pick it up and brought it back here, come to find out its bent twisted and made of really thin wall square tube, basically junk. Back to the drawing board.1979 XS1100 Special. Nicely modified.
