      Great choice...

If ya haven't had it very long, I'm gonna tell ya... you are gonna love it!
I've got 2 friends who have '08's. I just took a 2800 mile trip following one on his '08 through the mountains of Colo. (Colo. Ride report '09) and they are phenomenal handlers. His averaged over 40 mpg. -0- problems.
      Love that red, too!

Thanks for the comments guys! The reason I picked this one over the Yamaha FJR was the shorter wheelbase and quicker steering, I only have 70 miles on it so far (just rode it home) and so far it seems awesome.

              Hi Gary,
let me first say I am green with envy
But the swingarm pivot looks like it's way back from what is usual.
Is it really like that or is it an optical illusion? How does it handle?

It's not actually the swingarm pivot, Kawasaki came up with a system to counteract the usual effects of a shaft drive (much like BMW) "A virtually maintenance-free Tetra-Lever Shaft Drive ditches a traditional chain in favor of a driveline lash-reducing solution." So the crap you see is part of this system.

As for how it handles, I am impressed! It has quick steering and feels well planted in the turns. The only time you feel the 600 pounds is when you push it around the garage.

I've got a fjr1300. Love the bike. Im sure your gonna fall in love with your new bike. I love the old bikes but when you get on anything late model its kinda hard to go back to the old ones. Handling and suspension are great. Enjoy and have fun. Also gotta love fuel injection.

I kept everything for now, I am going to get the Trophy back to it's former glory and then try to sell it. If no takers I will keep for a spare in case anybody wants to stop by and ride. I have tried just a few brief blips on the throttle, this thing is made to go. Still need to do some break in before I start burning the tires off!!
