      Xs1100

We have 6 bikes. A 1996 Sporster, a 2007 Honda 1100 Shadow Spirit, a 1978 XS 1100, a 1979 Suzy 850GS and a couple others that I just have for fun. When my wife and I go together, two up, she says either the GS or the XS as they both a smoother ride for her on the back, right above the rear tire. So it does not matter what you want, as long as the wife approves. Forgiveness is easier than permission, however.

I'm with the 1st poster, get an ST1100 ! ... awesome sport tourer.

But if you really want a horrible handling but powerful dragster then get the damn V-Max already !!!

I sold my Yamaha FJ1200 after two years because of the vibrations in the handlebars and footrests at higher cruising speeds (90-110 mph). Than I bought a V-Max but sold it after two years as it was crap on long distances because of the small tank and the seating position (a friend of mine disagrees as he travels to Africa with it once a year )
I went for the than new Triumph 1200 Trophy four cylinder (that was in 1991). I could test ride it for a complete weekend and me and two of my friends and the dealer went along with the other three new Triumphs (daytona 750, daytona 1000, trophy 900) and we switched bikes during the weekend. During that weekend the ride on the 1200 Trophy reminded me strongly of my xs1100: everything fell in place and I had a big smile on my face. It also reminded me of my FJ but without the vibrations. Well, I still have it and I still ride it. It is one hell of an underrated bike.
