  • Just normal, about an inch of slack when the suspensions fully compressed, means about 2 or 3 inches of slack when the bikes' sitting parked riderless, all fine then. Dunno on swingarms that are compatible for the XS pivot distance Chop, so not much help, the hardest part would be actually finding a model with the 30mm pivot distance if looking for a straight on swap, but as ya know, there'll be more to it than that..

    • Can i ask you a question Pggg? (well beside that one) Do you know the distance from your centerline to the inner edge of your rear sprocket?
OK fellas should have some complete install pics minus chain(inroute) up tommorrow. gonna try to get a shot of it off the center stand. Stay tuned.
(The real reason I wrote this is to get the thread back to the top of the list. )

      • glad you asked

I can't remember where or if Pggg posted that...Hey Pggg, look at a ZX11 Swingarm (one with cam style chain adjuster)....it's a shoe in for the xs11 and will stretch the rear 4.5 inches...

        • ZX11, sweet if got 300mm width, maybe even use twin shocks if chain clears the lefthand one, can't remember that measurement exact, but I aligned front/back wheels within, say 3 or 4mm, tweak the alignment teetering within 1mm if fussy, not that important with the monster back tyre but so long as the front/rear sprockets align perfect within 1mm, no uneven polishing on the front sprocket, makes the chain and whole bike run SMOOTH

          • P.S. the chain drive won't help much for big top speed increases coz the XS is always gonna be a brick wall in a hurricane no matter what, but the extra drive makes the bike even livelier and faster on pickup, mine does power wheelies in 1st gear using stock gearing and lowering the gearing would make the XS a bucking wild beast

            • Well hopefully, stretching out the rear tire will help keep the front end down. Not trying to do any wheelies!!! I am afraid, since my bike is lowered, I would smash the headers into the ground. gonna put some more pics up in about an hour.

                    • The plan right now is I am going to try to make a fiberglass one, mold it so it wraps the tire from just below the swinarm up to about 1 o'clock. gonna mount it to the swingarm and hope it will be strong enough to not have to add holders further back. Also gonna try to get my tail light molded into it. Should look good if it turns out how I have it in my head. But my dreams and my ability seldom meet. So we'll see

                        • well got the chain yesterday, but after getting my rear wheel straight it turns out I am going to need to push my rear sprocket out further from the wheel. Soooo.... now I am waiting on another sprocket spacer. i am also painting the spokes and hub on the wheels flat black. Should look pretty bad asssssss when done. Man I cant wait to get this badboy on the road!!! Sucks I gotta go out of town on friday for a week. But when I get back I should have all my parts

I hate it when that happens. I have been running into the same thing lately with my job. Sad, when I have money to do whatever I want, but not the time....Toys.....Just wondering before if you are going to have to notch the frame like I did....looking good...chop

                            • I dont think I'm going to have to notch it? I have got my front sprocket pushed onto the splined shaft as far as it will go. right now it doesn't look like i need to, but I havent put the chain on yet either. I may actually have to cut the splined shaft down some so the sprocket can slide on further. My diagram I posted earlier was way off. Well not the entire thing just my centerline to inner edge front sprocket measurement. that is damn hard to measure. Any way do you think that measuring from the pivot point bolt center to the axle center (making sure both sides measure the same) is a good way to get the tire straight in the swingarm?
