audi, the last sprockets I got cut were outrageously priced, the machinist got greedy and basically ripped me off after I had a couple of 520 sprockets made 2 or 3 years back which were reasonably priced, I trusted them to charge the same but the b*** ds damn near doubled the price on me, I sent one to TC for $40US as they cost me over 50 bucks NZ each, needless to say that machinist won't ever see me again in this lifetime, also after dredging thru untold motorcycle sprocket catalogues and manuals, the only stock sprocket in the world that'll fit the XS11 spline pattern is the good ole XS650, but no good as 16 tooth is the lowest size available and 14 tooth is the largest that'll fit the eleven without BIG mods. I remember 50gary mentioned a sprocket 'cutter' somewhere over there in the States.

Their catalog says its for an 82-83 xs400 or XJ maxim. If that helps at all.
We shall see if it will work as soon as the part arrives. pretty cheap and it looked right so I bought one. I'll let you know.
That sure would be cool to find a sprocket that didn't have to get cut.Last edited by audijunky; 12-19-2006, 09:48 AM."Beware of any man that owns a pig farm"

82 -83 XS400 maxim uses a different sprocket than an 82 -83 XS400 seca, the 82 -83 seca uses the same sprocket as all the XS400's apart from a particular 77 XS400 model and a particular 78 XS400 model, which both use the same sprocket as an RD400, none of them match the XS650 sprocket according to the serial numbers

Also it looks like an XJ550R SECA or XJ 550 Maxim 81-83 would fit. Do there #s match? Or what about a YX600 Radian 86-90?Last edited by audijunky; 12-20-2006, 04:56 AM."Beware of any man that owns a pig farm"

Audi, I've got a link to a pdf , shows various brands of sprockets/bike models, I might of misquoted the xs400 figures, but they aren't compatible to the 650 anyway, (the mess of columns, numbers, digits gets confusing after a while!) I drew a blank on finding any matching sprocket, also trolled thru mountains of spline pattern spec sheets at the local bikeshop - still no joy, but don't want to state CATORGORICALLY that no stock suzuki, kwaka or honda sprocket won't fit the eleven, but the chances are slim, but ya never know.. I couldn't find any matching patterns myself, even our man TC couldn't find one, good luck and I'll gladly shout you a beer if you find a stock 13-14 tooth sprocket that'll fit the XS splines!! here's hoping

You were right pggg, guess you did do your home work.
The XS 550 sprocket appears to be to small a diameter in the center. I havent visually verified yet, but just looking at the size of the sprocket hole( for lack of better word) and the middle gear shaft diameter, they wont fit. I gotta another question though, How did you get the inner race way of the outer bearing of the shaft. I was pulling apart a middle gear assembly last night and stopped at that point. I have got everything off of the shaft except for that piece and the conical gear(or whatver it is called). would a loose channel lock and hammer method work? I tried to get a small flathead between the race and gear with no luck.
And do you think a machine shop would be able to cut this sprocket wider?
thanks"Beware of any man that owns a pig farm"

Audi bearings slide off either side, there's a circlip or two in there maybe jamming something, 26mm x 30mm with six grooves and the grooves are 4mm deep I remember an XS500 either C or D model might have been compatible but the over 14 teeth thing is just as much of a problem there, and 47teeth on the back(hopefully available in shops ) to fit the rear and more problems are surfacing, 13 or 14 teeth need a big back sprocket to keep the gearing in check otherwise gearbox work too...

Hey PG,
thanks for the help, you wouldn't happen to know off hand what the dimensions are for the two bearings on the middle gear shaft?
What I have written down from what I measured are
inner 55mm O.D., 29.8/30 I.D.
outer 62mm O.D. , 30mm I.D.
I am trying to verify cause when I set the inner on top of the outer the inside diameters didnt match up as my numbers would lead me to believe. I would be great if you could give me specifically what you used. Thanks for all your help
