I said I'd take one but the price seems a bit high. Do you have pix of how one looks on your bike?

I may wait until the next batch. At 12 bucks it was work the risk, at 2x that, I'd like to see what I'm getting.

I don't have one, nor am I getting one, I don't need it. I was just doing this for the members here. The cost is so high because the labels have to be scanned, and then digitized, and all that crap. Once the data is in the computer, a production run in the future should be much cheaper. I was quoted the low price because the seller had no idea how big the Standard and 80 Special pilot boxes were.
Everybody, I now have 7 orders for the Standard, and two for the 80-81 Specials. That is how the order is going in. Thanks for your patience. These past few weeks have been a PITA. My central A/C went out a while ago, and we have only been able to work on replacing it a few hours a day.

I'm kind of tapped out at the moment anyway. I just bought a very nice motorcycle lift and I'm hoping I can really afford it. It won't be here for about a week... Anyway I'm sure I'll get one later if there is another production run.

Life can be a bitch sometimes. We're having an odd heat wave here in NW Oregon and I find myself thinking the rain in the forecast might be a nice change... I'm way behind in all my work, it's too hot in the house and way too hot in the garage...

Pat, you are so right! I'm glad you caught that. That will help to lower the price a little. Thanks.

                  Bad news

I just got a couple of emails from the supplier concerning the labels. It looks like he won't be able to get them made. He's having some issues in his personal life that will prevent him from getting them made.
Here is a copy of the emails between us: They are in reverse order.

                  John,

                  So sorry !

I will send back ASAP !

                  Don

                  John,

This is not a good plan for me !

I'm having some trouble in my life right now, please forgive me but I'm in no mental condition to continue. I think I'm having a breakdown with problems at work and my health.

                  I'm so sorry !

                  Don

                  Well, Don,
Let's proceed with the plan. I want to get this over with, and some of my customers are asking when they will be ready. When you get them, please let me know how much I will owe you for the labels and for sending the pilot boxes back.
                  Thanks,
                  John

imflynn and Pat Kelly, as soon as I get your boxes back, I'll send them back to you. I am sorry for the whole mess. I was trying todo something good here. Now that I know they can be made, I'll see if I can find a print shop around here that could possibly make some. I have a label for an SG-SH that Randy made, only it is not self adhesive. I will use that as a sample.

Well, it isn't the end of the world. It would be nice to update, but it isn't critical.

John, thanks so much for the effort you have put into this.

I should mail him $1.45 and get the pilot box back, just in case we find another source.

I will take care of the postage costs. As soon as I get the box back from him, I'll send it back to you. I have one from imflynn also. When I bought the pile o' parts from btdtdan, there was a 79 pilot box and a set of gauges from an 78E, so I have a sample of each type now.
