I just heard from the supplier, and he said that there may be a small price increase, due to the size of the Standard, and 80-81 pilot box. He thought they were all the same size as a 79 Special box. He said he would get in touch with the print shop that makes them, and see what, if any, increase it may be. I will let y'all know what is going on when I hear back from him.
Prom, and Mastan, it may not be too late to add you to the order. If he doesn't have a new price yet, then that means that they haven't been made yet. I'll let you know when I know.

Because the ones he has are for the XS650, and the lights are marked differently. They don't have the headlight warning lamp., and I wanted to make sure it's done properly. How much did it cost to send the sample to him?

                Firm Price

Well, I now have a firm price for the labels, and it is kinda high. Here is a copy of my e mail conversations with him, explaining the the pricing:

                To: "John Wilmot" <xs11parts@hotmail.com>

                John,

She wants $40 setup each if you want the labels the same shape as the face. Making them fit the face will also increase the cost of them, the big one will be $17 each because of the extra material.

If she makes them in one rectangular so it just covers the lettering, setup is $25 each. She will only make them in even numbers, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. and they will be $9.50 each or $19.00 per pair.

Let me know ASAP as I'm off today and go in to work late Thursday. So I could drop them off at the post office today or tomorrow or take them over to her if you want to go ahead with it ? ? ?

                Hi Don.
I'm a little confused on the pricing. The setup cost of $40, plus the cost of $17 each, or is that $40 per sheet, with more than one label per sheet? Or is that the setup cost per different style, i.e Standard $40 set up, and each model of Special will be $40, plus the cost of each label she prints? Can you give me the total cost per label, so I can pass it on to my buyers, for each style, and what I will need to cover the cost of the order ? I don't think anybody would be interested in the second option, of just printing out a small label with just the lamp functions on it, they'd probably rather have a whole face label.
Thanks for going through all this hassle for me. I really appreciate it.
                John

                Hi ! John,

Yes the Y shape pilot box takes up more room, uses twice the material and will be $17 each and the setup will be $40 she can only make them in multiples of two. So divide the $40 set up by the number of labels needed and add the $17 cost per label. Where you only wanted 3 (79 model) you will get 4 at $17 each plus $40 divided by 4, so $27 each. If you get orders for 10 the cost will be $21 each.

                Let me know ASAP please.

                Don };~)

You will need many more orders to make these (79's) cost less.
                End Quote

I have orders for 10 Standard lables, so the cost of those is going to be about $21. I have 8 80-81 labels on order, so I need to get two more orders for those, and 7 more for the 79's or they will be prohibitivly expensive. I'm not looking to make a living off these things, only two bucks each, so I'm not going to order 10 for the 79's to bring the price down

Let me know if each of you wants to go through with the deal, or just cancel everything. I'm real sorry for the confusion this pricing has caused.

Hi John. I think I'm still interested in one for my SG. Are these labels some type of transparancy material or do they have cutouts for the lights? Are they self adhesive, are they removable, are they fade resistant, black with the white edging? How's that for a bunch of questions I should have asked weeks ago?
One more thing. I have no label on my ignition switch. The round one. Any of those floating around by any chance?
Thanks for all your legwork John!

Laxdad, you didn't order a set of switch gear labels? There was two ignition switch labels per sheet, and I don't have any of those left for sale. The guy I get them from sells them on ebay, on the XS650 auction page, so you may find one there. I have never seen them, but the seller told me that the pilot box labels are self adhesive, UV resistant ink, and the area over the lights is just left blank, as the material is like a trasparency. They are black, but like I said, I haven't seen one, so I don't know about the white edging. Hope this helps clarify things.
To the guys still interested, I wish I knew more to inform y'all on, but I need to get more confirmations before I send a bunch of money to the seller for something you may not want anymore, and I'll be stuck with the unwanted labels. The more we buy, the lower the cost, especially for the 79 Specials, as I have to split the $40 setup up cost amongst the labels tacked onto the actual cost of the labels

Hhmmm.. I went from... "I don't really need them, but they might be nice someday"($24), to "I don't really need them"($42)

I've now rewritten this post three times. (I'll still take two..., No, I'll just take one..., No... I'm droppin' out completely.)
I'm sorry, Gentlemen... the price for your stickers has now risen a few dollars, but... I save $42. (I couldn't justify saving everyone a few bucks by me shelling out $42)
John... if you would, please cancel my order.
Ok, so I'm "Weasle of the Year". I've been called worse.
