                      • Got me crying with that one Dan. Made me think about the pals I had to have put down. Why do they seem to be so eager to get into the vet's on their last visit?

                          • Dan,

With wet eyes, I want to tell you how sorry I am that Hershey had to take that last ride. I've many such rides myself and I know the anguish and the heartache that compunds with every mile. Even harder is that last walk and the last pat. I don't know why I do it to myself, but I always stay with them through the end. I guess it's because they are family, your four legged child and buddy and you'd do it for them. God Bless You, Dan and I pray that He eases your sorrow and sharpens your happy memories of Hershey.

                            • Sympathy for you, Dan...

Dan, your words were right on the money. Made me cry as well.....thinking about my best friends along the way. I believe they are all gifts from God, given to teach us a little about unconditional love. That's what they do. When the time comes that we must do something for them, I don't really think of it as betrayal....it was done as a final exam for the lesson of love that Hershey taught. Perhaps that is why the excitement was shown when Hershey got to the vet. Perhaps they know a bit more than they let on. Love is a complicated emotion. If our best friends are capable of that, what other things are within their power?

                              God Bless you, Dan....
