    Why hate them?

    Hi Maximan,
This string has segued so far from Arnie's little adventure that the only thing that's relevant is your signature line about hating Harleys.
    Why so?
That they are not to your taste? Too expensive? Quaintly old fashioned? Boast of being US built while having less US-built parts than a Goldwing?
Hey, if you don't want one, don't buy one, no problem.
    But hatred?
    Save that for something important.

Harley hatred is the sacred duty of XSives, Fred. That's why we were dumping on Herr Schwartzenegger. Which reminds me, has Snell tested Arnie's lip? It seems to have absorbed the impact of his crash and protected him from brain damage rather well. Maybe this is the dawn of a new age in helmet technology.

          A waste of hate

          Hi xs650mike,
Hatred of Harleys is wrong and foolish.
There are only so many XS11s in the world and increased demand will only drive up the price. By all means secretly pity the Harley owner but publicly encourage his folly so as to keep the XS11 affordable.
Same as those who urge the hatred of gays, are they insane?
          Encourage them instead!

Harley hatred is a tongue-in-cheek thing Fred, a sort of get-back at the Harley people who sneer at anything not Harley.

Wow...this thread is miles away fromw here it started. You can tell its winter, more politics in discussion. Just keep it civil, and remember there are other sites for political round tables. At least try to keep the posts motorcycle-related.

try to keep the posts motorcycle-related.

Two alligators were sitting at the side of the swamp
                near Washington, DC.

The smaller one turned to the bigger one and said, "I
can't understand how you kin be so much bigger 'n me.
We're the same age, we was the same size as kids. I
                just don't get it."

"Well," said the big 'gator, What you been eatin'
                boy?"

"Politicians, same as you," replied the small 'gator.

"Hmm. Well, where do y'all catch 'em?"

"Down 'tother side of the swamp near the capitol
                parkin lot."

"Same here. Hmm. How do you catch 'em?"

"Well, I crawls up under one of them Lexus and wait
fer one to unlock the car door. Then I jump out, grab
'em on the leg, shake the $hit out of 'em, and eat
                'em!"

"Ah!" says the big alligator, "I think I see your
problem. You ain't gettin'any real nourishment. See,
by the time you get done shakin' the $hit out of a
Politician, there ain't nothin' left but an a$$hole
                and
                a briefcase."

                  Politicians? Crooked? Preposterous!

The Democrats are just as bad but they're not in power. Still, I can't resist this one.

Click on the Daily Editorial Cartoons link, others are also good.

More aimed at Republicans, since they control all 3 branches of government at the moment, but some zingers aimed at Democrats as well. Other topics covered, including Super Bowl, C.S. King, Enron trial, other topics of daily interest.
