    Carb diaphragm question

Hi, I have looked through the carb section in the maintenance link and cannot find anything related to my question.

I brought a spare set of carbs from eBay and have been working through stripping them and rebuilding rather than messing with the ones that work. I have just fitted a diaphragm to number one, however compared to numbers 2&3 it returns to the resting position very quickly, where as 2&3 more slowly. Any thoughts suggestions before I finish number 4

I tried to upload a video, but no joy

    Thanks

Are you doing this test with the vent blocked?

Thanks for the video, I think there is a problem with number one, even with the vent covered over there is no change compared to, 2&3.

If you are in need of quality diaphragms.

How to measure the carburetor body to determine what size CV diaphragm you need and if JBM Industries has a part that might fit your vintage motorcycle. A chart showing the dimensions of the diaphragms we manufacture and notes on what motorcycles they fit.

Hi LoftCol,,,, maybe try refitting the diaphragm and make sure the Tab on the outside of the diaphragm lines up with the notch in the carb body....I usually use a bit of grease on the edges to hold it in place,,,also is the spring in ok shape,,,and check for holes in the diaphragm by holding up to a light,,,if any they can be patched but for long term, buy one....after all that try again with finger over hole and it should drop very slowly or nothing until finger is released from covering the inlet hole.....hope its simple as that,,,,,,,keep us informed, Mike in S.Diego and Pa

              'Lo. (^_^)

And iffin' the new diaphrams ain't got those nifty lil' tabs to help you line'em up properly? (O_o)

              Fortunately, I didn't need to buy all new diaphrams last time I did a teardown/inspect/rebuild. ( •_•)
Used the info and techniques found here-

Probl'y way mOaR info than most folks have or get befOaR tearing into CV BS-34 carbuetatorz. ( ゚ ,_ゝ゚)

              Have at it! ๑(◕‿◕)๑
