The replacement long brass fuel T's should be the same for both early and late type carbs, the short ones are for the upper vents on the early type carbs only. Larry is correct.

Another thing is maybe remove the carbs, take the air box out and set aside, then reinstall the carbs, then you can pinpoint which carb(s) is leaking.
QUESTION: Is there supposed to be enough vacuum to make a high pitched squeal at the gas cap? It stopped whe nI popped the cap-obviously.
And when I turned the petcocks back to run, from off, there was discernible bubbling in the tank. Never noticed before.
Of course these are new hearing aides and maybe I just never heard it before. Wondering if vacuum is sucking out gas even when the bike is off.

Jonny, you might as well clean the vent in the cap, it comes apart fairly easily. If it's blocked, the carbs will starve for fuel. I would remove the entire cap from the tank first, it is held on by just one screw.2H7 (79) owned since '89

And the sound you are hearing lets me know that the vent IS a problem. You are not getting a steady supply of fuel. and the bike will not run correctly until the vent is working properly again. It could be that was the biggest problem all along!Ray Matteis
